Water Heaters
What is a water heater?
A traditional water heater, or storage water heater, is a device that stores hot water in a tank. When you turn on a hot water faucet, the water from the tank flows through the faucet. Unlike tankless water heaters, in a traditional water heater, the tank stays heated constantly so there is always hot water available.
Should I get tankless or a traditional water heater?
Traditional water heaters are the most common type of water heating unit in the United States. They are relatively inexpensive and are better at heating large amounts of water, but may be less energy-efficient than a tankless water heater.
Here are some advantages of traditional water heaters:
Traditional water heaters are less expensive than tankless
They are better at providing larger amounts of hot water
They are relatively easy to maintain
Traditional water heaters also have their disadvantages:
They are less energy-efficient than tankless water heaters
They can take a long time to heat up water in the tank
They may require more frequent maintenance than tankless heaters
